Happy freakin 4th of July

For the 4th we headed up to the San Juan Islands to sail on Orizaba. We started out it Friday Harbor where we went to their 4th of July parade. It was pretty good for a small island. We then went to the Pig War BBQ held by the Lions club of Friday Harbor. That was something I could have lived without. And finally we watched fireworks from the dock. Collin did not fail us this year. He freaked out and screamed until he was safe underneath a blanket in bed. When the weekend was over and John and Angie had left, we sailed over to Roche Harbor. The following are a few pics from our week.

Brotherly Love

What you can't see is that they are actually spitting at each other.

Peein' off the stern

Learning to find the wind

One of the many shrimp Tyler found. He joined shrimpin' club with some other kids on the dock.

Honestly, who thought up this kid?

8.5 knots

Me driving at 8.5 knots

Collin sleeping at 8.5 knots

We always have a great time when we go to the islands and hope to make this a summer tradition!

Shoes

I have a love/hate relationship with shoes. I love them for myself and hate them for the boys. We are constantly losing shoes. Last night, we headed over to John and Angie's with two shoes on Collin's feet. When we got there, we only had one. The other was no where to be found in the car. Since we were planning on going out for dinner, we had to come up with a solution. Angie offered up her flip flops for Collin to borrow. He must not have wanted anyone at Kennedy School to see who it was that was wearing women's flip flops a few sizes too big so he added the paper plate super hero mask to his ensemble as an effort to disguise himself. I think it worked.

Tyler lost his first tooth!!!

Six and a half years of cute little baby teeth is not bad.

It's now time for those big ol' not so cute adult teeth to grow in. *Sigh*

Now where is that darned tooth fairy???

Happy Birthday Cookie!!!

Collin had a big year! He started school without crying this time, tried out a few sports, became a pro on his scooter, learned to ride a two wheeled bike, figured out how to talk his parents' ears off, and handed over his paci to the Paci Fairy. In return, he got a Nerf Gun. To celebrate his accomplishments, he wanted to go to none other than Chuck E. Cheese. Lucky us!!

Happy Birthday, you crazy kid!!!

Batter Up!!

We have found Collin's game. Baseball! He is loving it! It's perfect for him because he gets to hit the ball each inning unlike in soccer where he has to share with his team. That didn't go so well.

I'm so good, I can play with my eyes shut!

He loves to hit the ball!

Fielding is a bit boring. Good thing there is a bunch of dirt to play in.

Someone brought toys to liven the bench.

Maybe the Big Diamondbacks want me for the team!

Happy Easter!!

This was taken just before Collin spilled yogurt all over himself.

These are our Easter egg cupcakes. So yummy!

And for your Easter viewing pleasure, a couple of random Collin moments:

I hope no one notices that I snuck into my brother's bed.
I like my new bike helmet. It's just a bit tricky to put on. Oh and by the way, I can ride a two wheeled bike. With my helmet on properly, of course!

In a galaxy far, far away (Portland, Oregon) a
Jedi Padawan was born. After many years (6) of training, he
finally reached his goal of celebrating his big day like a Jedi.
The following is his story.

They began by granting a Jedi with their most prized possession, a light saber.

They showed off their agility by participating in a pod (scooter) race.

They attacked the Death Star (soccer ball pinata painted black). A more experienced Jedi finished it off just before a big storm came in.

The younglings collected their prizes for such a magnificent defeat.

After demonstrating their creativity and ship construction skills (Lego building time) they feasted on cake.

Happy Birthday Tyler!!! And may the Force be with you!
